The Return to DreamlandTulum wedding anniversary shoot

I have first found myself in enchanted lands of Tulum seven years ago, when I came there for the wedding of my dearest friends, Asya and Jonathan. Then I returned, to once again embrace the healing energy of the ocean, to soak in the deliciously salty air, to pass through the sacred spaces and to take photographs of my friends on the day of their anniversary.
There is something very special about this place. And all of its beauty and magic comes to light when you share it with people you love, doing what you love.

The Mayan ceremony in Tulum

Fours years ago today, on a beach of Tulum, I have witnessed a traditional Mayan wedding ceremony full of magic and mysticism. Amidst the sacred smoke from the Copal tree, we all stood there barefoot surrounding the bride, the groom and the altar, built of flowers and traditional offerings to Gods – corn, beans, rice, fruit. The offerings were to represent the gifts of prosperity and fertility. The Shaman was blowing the conch shell horn to evoke the four elements: water, earth, wind and fire, so that their presence may strengthen and bless the union for many years.

Happy anniversary to these two beautiful beings who continue to roam the world and inspire me and others around them.
